Our most popular 1911 Holsters
The 1911 has been carried for more than a century, and it still asks the same things of a holster: full coverage of the trigger guard, a secure hold on a heavy all-steel gun, and a draw that clears the frame cleanly every time. Rounded Gear 1911 holsters are molded from KYDEX for the three frame lengths that matter: the 5 in Government, the 4.25 in Commander and the 3.5 in Officer, in rail and non-rail versions.
Each holster is molded in-house in Jacksonville, Florida, on aluminum molds cut for the 1911's slide and frame, so retention comes from the shape of your gun rather than from straps or loose fit. Posi-Click retention gives an audible click when the gun is seated, and every holster is cut to clear a red dot.
Choose an IWB holster for concealed carry under a shirt, an OWB paddle holster for the range or open carry, or a leather hybrid for a softer backer against the body. Every 1911 holster comes in right or left hand, in Black or Carbon Fiber Black, and is backed by a lifetime warranty. The same holsters serve 1911s from Colt, Kimber, Springfield and Ruger, sorted by barrel length.
Worn inside the waistband, usually at 3 to 5 o'clock. The most concealable everyday option for most people.
Worn in front at 12 to 1 o'clock. The Plus Line adds a concealment wing that tucks the grip in to reduce printing.
Paddle or belt loop, worn outside the waistband. The most comfortable choice when concealment matters less.
For everyday concealed carry, an IWB Kydex holster matched to your frame length is the best fit for most people. Choose OWB paddle for the range or open carry, or a leather hybrid if you want a softer backer.
We mold holsters for the 5 in Government, 4.25 in Commander and 3.5 in Officer, each in rail and non-rail versions. Choose by barrel length and whether your frame has an accessory rail.
Yes. A full-size 1911 conceals well in an IWB holster with a good gun belt, and the Commander and Officer frames are easier still because the shorter slide and grip print less.
Yes. Every Rounded Gear Kydex holster is cut to clear a red dot optic, so an optics-ready 1911 carries in the same holster as an iron-sight gun.
