The best SIG P365 XL holster for most carriers is the Sig Sauer P365 XL IWB Holster, from $44.95, our best selling P365 XL shell by a wide margin over the past twelve months. It is hand molded .08 inch Kydex, optic cut as standard, Claw Compatible, and adjustable for both ride height and retention. If you carry appendix and want a spare magazine on the same rig, the Sig Sauer P365 XL Sidecar Holster, from $94.95 is the better starting point.

P365 XL Specs That Affect Holster Choice
| Specification | SIG P365 XL |
|---|---|
| Caliber | 9mm Luger |
| Capacity | 12+1 flush, 15+1 with the extended magazine |
| Barrel Length | 3.7 in |
| Overall Length | 6.6 in |
| Height | 4.8 in |
| Width | 1.1 in |
| Weight | 20.7 oz with magazine |
| Sight Radius | 5.6 in |
| Sights | Optic ready slide with X-RAY3 day and night sights |
| Trigger | Flat trigger with a 90 degree break |
| Manual Safety | Not on the standard SKU, offered on the MS versions |
Those numbers are SIG's own published figures, and three of them decide the holster. The 1.1 inch width is what makes the XL carry like a micro-compact rather than a compact, so a well molded Kydex shell and a claw are usually enough concealment without going to a deep conceal setup. The 4.8 inch height is the part that prints: the grip is the widest, longest thing on the gun and it sits outside the holster, which is why ride height and cant matter more on this gun than shell choice does. And the 3.7 inch barrel with its 6.6 inch overall length is why the XL needs its own mold. It carries the same grip module as the P365X but runs a slide that is roughly six tenths of an inch longer, and a Kydex shell indexes on the slide and the trigger guard, so a P365X shell leaves the XL muzzle unsupported.
At 20.7 oz loaded weight is not the problem a belt has to solve here. Sag comes from the lever arm of a 4.8 inch grip hanging off a soft waistband, so a stiff 1.5 inch belt such as The Ultimate Concealed Carry Leather Gun Belt, from $69.99, does more for comfort on this gun than any holster upgrade.
Which P365 Do You Have?
The P365 is a family, not one gun, and the variants do not share shells. The grip module is interchangeable on this platform, but the slide is what the Kydex wraps, so match the slide and you have matched the holster.
| Variant | Barrel | Flush Capacity | Where To Shop |
|---|---|---|---|
| P365 | 3.1 in | 10+1 | Sig Sauer P365 Holsters |
| P365X | 3.1 in | 12+1 | Sig Sauer P365 X Holsters |
| P365 XL | 3.7 in | 12+1 | Sig Sauer P365 XL Holsters, this guide |
| P365 XL Spectre | Same as the XL | 12+1 | Sig Sauer P365 XL Spectre Holsters, the same XL shells |
| P365 XMACRO | 3.7 in | 17+1 | Sig Sauer P365 XMacro Holsters, molded separately |
| P365 FUSE | 4.3 in | 17+1 | Sig Sauer P365 FUSE Holsters |
| P365-AXG Legion | 3.1 in | 17+1 | Sig Sauer P365-AXG Legion Holsters |
The XL and the XMACRO both run a 3.7 inch barrel, which is where most of the confusion on this platform starts. We mold them as two separate shells because the XMACRO's frame and grip are wider, so buy by name rather than by barrel length. The P365 XL Spectre is the one case where the XL shells carry straight over, and our Spectre collection is built from exactly those shells.
Every Carry Configuration, Compared

Sig Sauer P365 XL IWB Holster, from $44.95
Best Overall
This is the shell the rest of the line is measured against, and it is the P365 XL holster our customers buy most often by a clear margin. Hand molded .08 inch Kydex, a Posi-Click retention click you can hear, user adjustable retention, cant and ride height, and a full sweat guard option on the right hand build. It is molded for the P365 XL, the P365 XL ROMEOZero and the P365 XL Spectre, and because every shell is optic cut there is no separate optics version to pick at checkout.
Best for: Everyday inside the waistband carry at appendix or on the hip, with or without a red dot.

Sig Sauer P365 XL Sidecar Holster, from $94.95
Best For Appendix Carry
A tuckable IWB shell with a spare magazine carrier on a flexible joint, so the gun and the magazine each follow your body instead of fighting it. It ships with 1.5 inch tuckable belt loops and a claw already included. If you have been carrying a spare 12 round magazine loose in a pocket, this is the upgrade that makes appendix carry sit flat.
Best for: Dedicated appendix carriers who want gun and spare magazine on one rig.

Sig Sauer P365/P365 XL DRUID 2.0 Holster, from $69.95
Best Convertible IWB And OWB
Two holsters in one box. The DRUID 2.0 is a thicker .093 inch shell that ships with both a 1.5 inch IWB clip and an OWB paddle, plus a claw kit, so one purchase covers concealed carry and range use. The open face clears threaded barrels and compensators, and the mount pattern accepts Ulticlip, DCC Monoblock, DOTS, Safariland QLS and the Phlster Enigma. One shell covers the P365, P365X, P365 380, P365 XL, P365 XL ROMEOZero and P365 XL Spectre.
Best for: One holster that has to do inside the waistband, outside the waistband and range duty.

Sig Sauer P365 XL IWB KYDEX Holster, Plus Line, from $64.95
Best Premium Build
The same mold as our standard IWB with the hardware upgraded: a Monoblock metal clip, the claw already fitted, and the finish work taken a step further. If you carry every day and want the setup to arrive sorted rather than assembled from kits, this is the one to buy once.
Best for: Daily carriers who want the claw and the metal clip included from the start.

Sig Sauer P365 XL Tuckable IWB Holster, from $49.95
Best For Dress Clothes
The tuckable runs a 1.5 inch belt loop instead of a clip, so a dress shirt tucks down between the shirt and the holster body and only the loop shows at the belt. Ambidextrous without the sweat guard, right or left hand with the full sweat guard. On a 4.8 inch tall grip the tuckable plus a claw is the combination that keeps a collared shirt clean.
Best for: Office dress codes, tucked shirts, and anyone who cannot show a clip.

Sig Sauer P365 XL Paddle Holster, from $49.95
Best OWB For Quick On And Off
A fiber reinforced nylon paddle that goes on and comes off without unthreading a belt, which is what you want for range trips, truck carry and anywhere you have to disarm at the door. It fits 1.5 to 1.75 inch belts, and the OWB Holster Paddle Mount, from $9.95, is a direct replacement if you ever need a spare.
Best for: Range use, open carry where legal, and carry that has to come off fast.

Sig Sauer P365 XL OWB Holster, from $59.95
Best Belt Loop OWB
Belt loops instead of a paddle, which pulls the gun in tighter to the body and keeps it there. This is the steadier of our two OWB options and the better choice if the holster lives on one belt and stays there. Optic cut and molded for suppressor height sights like the rest of the line.
Best for: Outside the waistband carry under a jacket, and anyone who wants the gun held closest to the body.

Sig Sauer P365 XL Olight Baldr S/Mini IWB Holster, from $49.95
Best For A Weapon Light
A light bearing shell is a different mold, not a looser one, and this is the real thing: molded around the P365 XL with an Olight Baldr S or Baldr Mini fitted. We also build it as a paddle version at $54.95, and the same pair exists for the Olight PL-MINI 2 Valkyrie in IWB at $49.95 and paddle at $54.95.
Best for: A P365 XL that wears a light, carried inside or outside the waistband.

Sig Sauer P365 XL Athletic Wear Holster, from $57.95
Best For Gym And Beltless
Built for waistbands that have no belt in them: gym shorts, joggers, scrubs and leggings. It uses an Ulticlip style mount that bites the fabric itself rather than relying on a belt for support, and it is Claw Compatible, which matters when there is no belt tension to pull the grip in.
Best for: Workouts, athletic wear and any day that does not include a real belt.

Sig Sauer P365 Trigger Guard Holster, from $36.95
Best Minimalist And Pocket
One shell listed for the P365, P365X, P365 380, P365 XL, P365 XL ROMEOZero and P365 XL Spectre, which makes it the cheapest way to cover more than one gun in the family. It ships with a 1.5 inch tuckable clip and both a right and left hand claw, it accommodates threaded barrels and suppressor height sights, and adding the Pocket and Purse Trigger Guard Holster Kit, from $9.95, turns it into a pocket or bag carry rig. We do not make a dedicated pocket holster for the XL, so this pairing is the honest answer to pocket carry.
Best for: Deep concealment, pocket and purse carry, and owners of more than one P365 variant.

Universal IWB Holster, from $39.95
Best Multi-Gun
Our published fit guide confirms the P365 XL at the Micro size, alongside the P365 and the XMACRO, so one holster covers the whole family plus whatever else is in the safe. Retention is set with a Posi-Dial rather than molded in, and it is ambidextrous. One caveat worth knowing before you buy: the Universal is not compatible with our claw kit, so a dedicated XL shell still conceals better.
Best for: Rotating between several guns, or a spare holster that fits everything.
What Actually Matters When Buying
Material. Our P365 XL shells are hand molded .08 inch Kydex, with the DRUID 2.0 stepping up to .093 inch. Kydex holds its shape, so retention stays where you set it and the holster mouth stays open for one handed reholstering.
Retention. Every shell here uses Posi-Click retention, which you adjust with a screw and confirm by ear. Set it so the gun clicks in and does not move when the holster is turned upside down, and no tighter.
Adjustability. Cant and ride height are user adjustable across the line. On a gun with a 4.8 inch grip, a few degrees of forward cant does more for concealment than any other single change.
Trigger guard coverage. Every shell fully encloses the trigger guard. That is the one feature that is not negotiable in a carry holster, and it is why the trigger guard holster still counts as a real holster rather than a pocket sleeve.
The claw. The Holster Claw Kit, from $15.95, levers the grip toward your body using the belt as a fulcrum, and it is the single cheapest fix for printing on this gun. It fits our standard IWB and tuckable shells with .60 inch retention hole spacing, and the P365 XL IWB, tuckable, Plus Line and athletic wear shells are all tagged Claw Compatible. The sidecar and the DRUID 2.0 include a claw already.
The belt. A 1.5 inch gun belt that does not fold is doing half the concealment work. If you want to keep a clip hidden entirely, the Tuckable Low Profile Holster Belt Loop Kit, from $12.95, mounts a tuckable loop over the retention holes on an IWB shell and works alongside the claw kit.
IWB vs OWB For The P365 XL
| Factor | IWB | OWB |
|---|---|---|
| Concealment | Strong. At 1.1 inch wide the XL disappears under a t-shirt with a claw fitted. | Needs a cover garment. The 4.8 inch grip rides above the belt line. |
| Comfort | Good once cant and ride height are set. The grip is the pressure point when seated. | Better over long days. Nothing sits between the gun and your waistband. |
| Draw Speed | Fast from appendix, slower from behind the hip. | Fastest. Nothing to clear but the cover garment. |
| Wardrobe Impact | Needs waistband room. A tuckable solves tucked shirts. | Needs a jacket or an untucked overshirt. |
| Best For | Everyday concealed carry, appendix or hip. | Range days, truck carry, open carry where legal, and winter layers. |
Appendix Carry Setup
The XL is close to ideal for appendix carry, because the thing that makes appendix uncomfortable is slide length pressing into the hip crease when you sit, and 6.6 inches overall is short enough to avoid most of it. Get these four things right and the gun stops announcing itself.
Concealment claw. Fit one. The claw pushes the grip in and is the difference between a visible grip bump and a flat shirt. Our IWB, tuckable and Plus Line XL shells all take it, and the sidecar and DRUID 2.0 ship with it.
Ride height. Start with the gun sitting low enough that the whole grip is below the belt line, then raise it one step at a time until the draw is clean. Deeper is more concealed and slower.
Belt. A stiff 1.5 inch belt is what the claw levers against. On a soft belt the claw has nothing to push on and the grip rolls out.
Wardrobe and sitting. One size up in the waistband and a slightly looser shirt do more than any gear change. Before you commit, sit down, drive, and bend to tie a shoe with the holster on. If the muzzle digs in, rotate the holster a degree or two toward the centerline rather than loosening the belt.
Optics, Lights And The Manual Safety
Optics. Every Kydex holster we build is optic cut, so an optic equipped P365 XL needs no different shell and no separate decision at checkout. A ROMEOZero, RMSc or any other footprint-compatible red dot clears the shell, and the sight channel accepts suppressor height sights. The older SKUs in our catalog labelled Optic Ready are a legacy of the migration, not a choice you have to make now.
The manual safety. SIG sells the P365 XL both without a manual thumb safety, which is the standard configuration, and in MS versions that have one. Our fitment list for the XL shells names the P365 XL, the P365 XL ROMEOZero and the P365 XL Spectre. Those XL holsters also accommodate the manual safety (MS) versions of the P365 XL, P365 XL ROMEOZero and P365 XL Spectre, because our molds anticipate where SIG places the thumb safety.
Lights. Light bearing is a separate mold, and for the XL we build six of them: IWB and paddle for the Olight Baldr S and Baldr Mini, IWB and paddle for the Olight PL-MINI 2 Valkyrie, and IWB and paddle for the Streamlight TLR-7 Sub. The TLR-7 Sub pair is the Sig Sauer P365 TLR7 SUB IWB Holster, from $49.95, and the Sig Sauer P365 TLR7 SUB Paddle Holster, from $54.95, both listed for the P365 and the P365XL with a Streamlight TLR-7 Sub mounted.
What Else A P365 XL Holster Covers
Fitment on this platform is decided by the slide, so here is exactly what our XL shells cover and what they do not.
What the XL shells do cover. The P365 XL, the P365 XL ROMEOZero and the P365 XL Spectre, which is exactly what our fitment list names for every dedicated XL shell. Optic equipped XLs need nothing different, because every shell is optic cut.
What covers more than one variant. The Sig Sauer P365 Trigger Guard Holster and the DRUID 2.0 are each listed for the P365, P365X, P365 380, P365 XL, P365 XL ROMEOZero and P365 XL Spectre in one shell. The Universal IWB Holster in Micro is confirmed for the P365, P365XL and P365XMACRO on its published fit guide.
What needs its own shell. A base P365 or a P365X will rattle in an XL shell, because both run a 3.1 inch barrel against the XL's 3.7 inch. An XMACRO will not seat in an XL shell despite sharing the barrel length, so XMACRO owners should shop the XMACRO collection and read our P365 XMACRO holster guide. The FUSE at 4.3 inches and the AXG Legion are both molded separately as well.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is The P365 The Best Carry Gun?
There is no objective best carry gun, only the best fit for your hand, your wardrobe and your training. What the P365 family does unusually well is capacity for size: the XL carries 12+1 flush in a gun 1.1 inches wide and 20.7 oz loaded. Whatever you carry, the holster and belt decide whether you actually carry it.
Is There A Safety On A Sig P365 XL?
Not a manual thumb safety on the standard model. SIG's spec sheet for the standard P365 XL lists manual safety as no, relying on internal striker safeties, and SIG also sells MS versions that add a frame mounted thumb safety. Our XL shells are listed for the P365 XL, P365 XL ROMEOZero and P365 XL Spectre, and they accommodate the MS versions of each.
What Magazines Does The P365 XL Take?
It ships with two 12 round flush fit steel magazines, and SIG offers 15 round extended magazines for 15+1. Ten round versions are sold for restricted states. Magazine length changes nothing about the holster, because the magazine sits in the grip and the grip sits outside the shell. A spare rides in a separate magazine carrier or on our sidecar rig.
Which P365 Grip Is The Most Comfortable?
That is down to hand size, and the honest answer is to try both. The XL and P365X modules give most adults a full three finger purchase at 4.8 inches tall, while the base P365 grip is shorter and conceals better. Because the chassis is removable, a grip module swap does not change your holster.
What Is The Best Holster For A SIG P365 XL?
Our Sig Sauer P365 XL IWB Holster at $44.95 is the one most XL owners buy and the one we would hand a new carrier, with a claw kit fitted. Appendix carriers who want a spare magazine should start with the P365 XL Sidecar Holster at $94.95, and anyone who needs both IWB and OWB should look at the DRUID 2.0 at $69.95.
Is SIG SAUER Discontinuing The P365XL?
SIG has announced no such thing, and the P365 XL is still listed as a current product in SIG's own catalog with multiple SKUs. Individual XL configurations have been retired over the years, and owners have reported supply gaps, which is likely where the question comes from. We keep building P365 XL shells to order either way.
How We Chose
These are our own holsters, so treat this as a guide to our line rather than a survey of the market. What we can do honestly is rank our own catalog against real data instead of opinion. Every product here was checked against our live catalog on the day of writing for title, price and availability, and the order is set by trailing twelve month units sold, cross-checked against our store's own best selling sort. The Best Overall pick is the shell that actually outsells the others, not the one with the best margin.
Specifications come from SIG SAUER's published figures for the P365 XL. Fitment claims come from our own molding and fitment sheets, and where a configuration does not exist we say so rather than suggesting a near miss. Where a question has no settled answer, such as whether any gun is the best carry gun, we say that too.
