The best Glock 19X holster for most carriers is the IWB Holster fits: Glock 19 19X 32 45, from $44.95, our best selling Kydex shell and the one molded to the 19X by name. It is optic cut, claw compatible and adjustable for cant and ride height, which is what tames the 19X's full-length grip. If you carry appendix, the Glock 19/19X/32/45 Sidecar Holster, from $94.95 carries the gun and a spare magazine on one platform and pulls the grip flat against your body.

Glock 19X Specs That Affect Holster Choice
These are Glock's own published figures for the G19X.
| Specification | Glock 19X |
|---|---|
| Caliber | 9x19mm |
| Magazine capacity | 17 standard, 17, 19 or 24 optional |
| Barrel length | 4.02 in (102 mm) |
| Slide length | 6.85 in (174 mm) |
| Overall length | 7.44 in (189 mm) |
| Height with magazine | 5.47 in (139 mm) |
| Slide width | 1.0 in (25.5 mm) |
| Overall width | 1.30 in (33 mm) |
| Trigger distance | 2.76 in (70 mm) |
| Weight with empty magazine | 24.83 oz (704 g) |
Two numbers decide everything about carrying this gun. The slide is 6.85 inches, the same as a Glock 19, so the part of the gun that sits inside a Kydex shell is compact. The grip is 5.47 inches tall, the same as a Glock 17, so the part of the gun that sits above your belt line is full size. That split is why a 19X conceals at the waistband like a 19 and prints at the top like a 17, and it is why ride height, cant and a claw matter more on this gun than on almost anything else Glock builds. At 24.83 ounces empty it also wants a real gun belt: a soft dress belt will let 17 rounds of 9mm roll away from your body no matter which holster you buy.
Glock 19, 19X, 45 And 17: Which Share A Shell
This is the question most Glock 19X buyers are actually asking, and Glock's own spec sheets answer it. A Kydex holster indexes on the slide and the trigger guard. The grip sits above the mouth of the shell and never touches it. So guns with identical slides take identical shells, whatever their grips do.
| Figure | Glock 19 | Glock 19X | Glock 45 | Glock 17 |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Barrel length | 4.02 in | 4.02 in | 4.02 in | 4.49 in |
| Slide length | 6.85 in | 6.85 in | 6.85 in | 7.32 in |
| Slide width | 1.0 in | 1.0 in | 1.0 in | 1.0 in |
| Height with magazine | 5.04 in | 5.47 in | 5.47 in | 5.47 in |
| Capacity, standard | 15 | 17 | 17 | 17 |
| Weight with empty magazine | 23.63 oz | 24.83 oz | 24.48 oz | 24.97 oz |
| Takes our 19/19X/32/45 shell | Yes | Yes | Yes | No |
The Glock 19, 19X and 45 publish the same barrel, the same slide length and the same slide width. Only grip height and capacity move. That is why every shell on this page is titled for the 19, 19X, 32 and 45 together: one mold, three grip lengths, no compromise in fit. The Glock 17 is the one that breaks the set, because its slide is 0.47 inches longer, so it needs its own mold and our Glock 17 shells are cut separately.
You will see the opposite claim elsewhere, usually phrased as a warning that a Glock 19 holster will not reliably take a 19X. That warning is about holsters with a tall body shield or sweatguard that runs up alongside the grip, where an extra 0.43 inches of grip genuinely does interfere. It is not a statement about the mold. Our shells are formed to and rated for the 19X by name, and the 19X is listed on each product's own fitment sheet, so there is no guesswork and no separate 19X purchase decision. Glock's own figures put the 19X one millimeter narrower overall than the Glock 45 at 33 mm against 34 mm, which is inside the tolerance a molded shell absorbs and is the only published dimension where the two differ at all.
Every Carry Configuration, Compared

IWB Holster fits: Glock 19 19X 32 45, from $44.95
Best Overall
This is the shell the great majority of 19X carriers end up in, and it is the best selling holster in the whole Glock 19 family by a wide margin. Adjustable Posi-Click retention, adjustable cant and a full sweatguard option on the right hand version, with a left hand version molded rather than mirrored. It is claw compatible, which matters more here than on a Glock 19 because the claw is what rotates that taller grip in toward your ribs.
Best for: Everyday inside-the-waistband carry at 3 to 5 o'clock or appendix, in anything from jeans to a tucked-out shirt.

Paddle Holster fits: Glock 19 19X 32 45, from $49.95
Best OWB For Quick On And Off
The paddle slides inside your waistband and clamps behind the belt, so the holster comes off without unthreading anything. For a 19X that is the practical range and truck-gun answer, and it is our second best selling 19X-rated shell. Cant is adjustable, so you can run it straight for the range or raked forward to keep that long grip from catching a cover garment.
Best for: Range days, open carry where legal, and anyone who takes the gun on and off several times a day.

Trigger Guard Holster fits: Glock 17 19 19X 26 31 32 33 34 45 47 49, from $36.95
Best Minimalist And Pocket
A trigger guard shell covers the trigger and nothing else, then pulls off the gun on the draw with a lanyard. It is the smallest, lightest way to carry a 19X and the only sensible route to bag or console carry, where a full holster is bulk you do not need. Pair it with the Pocket and Purse Trigger Guard Holster Kit, $9.95 if you want a pocket wing. We do not build a dedicated pocket shell for a gun this size, and a 19X is not a pocket gun, so this plus the kit is the honest answer.
Best for: Bag, pack or vehicle carry, deep concealment under light clothing, and as a second holster for an existing gun.

IWB Holster fits Glock 19 19X 32 45 Olight PLX, from $49.95
Best For A Weapon Light
A light changes the shell, because the mold has to clear the light body rather than the dust cover. This one is cut for the Olight PLX and is our best selling light bearing option for the platform. We build the same shell for the Olight Baldr S and Baldr Mini, from $49.95, the Olight PL-MINI 2 Valkyrie, from $49.95 and the Olight PL-MINI 3 Valkyrie, from $49.95, with paddle versions of each from $54.95. For a Streamlight TLR-7, TLR-7A or TLR-7X the answer is the DRUID 2.0 Holster fits: Glock 19/19X/32/45 TLR7/7A/7X, from $77.95, and for a TLR-1 the IWB Holster fits: Glock 17 19 19X 26 31 32 33 34 45 47 49 TLR-1, from $49.95.
Best for: Home defense and night carry, where a light on the gun is worth the extra width at the waistband.

OWB Holster fits: Glock 19 19X 32 45, from $59.95
Best Belt Loop OWB
Belt loops hold the holster tighter to the body than a paddle and do not move at all once the belt is through them, which is what you want for a duty-weight gun. This one ships ambidextrous, so one holster covers either hand, with adjustable cant and ride height. Swap it onto the OWB Holster Paddle Mount, $9.95 later if you decide you want quick on and off instead.
Best for: Open carry, range use, outdoor carry over a jacket, and left handed shooters who want one holster that works either way.

Plus Line IWB KYDEX Holster fits: Glock 19 19X 32 45, from $64.95
Best Premium Build
The Plus Line is the same mold with the upgrades built in rather than bolted on: a wider, softer-edged body for all-day wear, upgraded hardware and a finished interior. If you already know you carry every day and the 19X is your one gun, this is the version to buy once. It is claw compatible like the standard shell.
Best for: All-day daily carry, thinner builds who feel holster edges, and buyers who would rather spend once.

Tuckable IWB Holster fits: Glock 19 19X 32 45, from $49.95
Best For Dress Clothes
The tuckable runs a low profile belt loop instead of a clip, so your shirt tucks between shirt and holster and only a strip of nylon shows at the belt. On a 19X that is the only genuine way to wear a tucked shirt, because the grip is too tall to hide under an untucked polo in warm weather. Choose the full sweatguard right or left hand version, or the ambidextrous version with no sweatguard if you want the slimmest profile.
Best for: Office dress codes, tucked shirts, weddings and anywhere an untucked cover garment would stand out.

DRUID 2.0 Holster fits: Glock 19/19X/32/45, from $69.95
Best Convertible
One shell that converts between inside and outside the waistband, so a single purchase covers daily carry and range work. For a 19X owner who is still deciding how to carry a gun this size, the DRUID removes the need to guess: wear it IWB through the week, move it outside the belt on Saturday. A TLR-7, TLR-7A and TLR-7X version is available from $77.95.
Best for: New 19X owners still settling on a carry position, and anyone who wants one holster to do both jobs.

Athletic Wear Holster fits: Glock 19 19X 32 45, from $57.95
Best For Gym And Beltless
Built around a clip that bites into a soft waistband rather than needing a belt, so gym shorts, joggers and scrub pants become workable. A 19X is a heavy gun to hang on elastic, so this one rewards a high and tight ride and a snug waistband, but it beats leaving the gun in the car. Ambidextrous, with no sweatguard for the slimmest profile.
Best for: Gym shorts, athletic wear, scrubs and anything without belt loops.

Glock 19/19X/32/45 Sidecar Holster, from $94.95
Best For Appendix Carry
The sidecar puts the gun and a spare magazine on one flexible platform, so the magazine carrier acts as a counterweight and pushes the grip inward instead of letting it tip out. That is exactly the problem a 19X creates at appendix, and it is why appendix shooters with full-length grips keep landing on this layout. It is a newer shell for this platform, published in June 2026, so the sales numbers are still young.
Best for: Appendix carry at 1 to 2 o'clock, carrying a reload, and anyone fighting grip print.

Universal IWB Holster, from $39.95
Best Multi-Gun
Our most popular holster full stop, and the Glock 19X is on its published fit list at Standard size. One shell covers a household of different guns, which is why it sells the way it does. It is ambidextrous and uses a Posi-Dial retention device, and it can be worn outside the waistband by swapping on the paddle mount. One caveat we publish rather than bury: it is not compatible with the Holster Claw Kit, and on a 19X the claw is worth having, so this is the multi-gun answer and not the best single-gun answer.
Best for: Households with several guns, travel, and carrying a loaner or a backup.

Holster Claw Kit, from $15.95
Best Concealment Upgrade
A claw levers against the inside of your belt and rotates the grip toward your body. On a gun whose grip is 5.47 inches tall, that rotation is the difference between a visible lump and a flat waistline, which is why nearly every serious discussion of 19X concealment ends up talking about claws and wedges. It fits our claw compatible IWB, tuckable, Plus Line and athletic wear shells and takes a few minutes with the included hardware.
Best for: Anyone whose 19X grip prints at 1 to 2 o'clock, which is most people carrying one appendix.
What Actually Matters When Buying
Material. Kydex holds a molded shape, so retention comes from the mold rather than from friction against your gun's finish. It does not absorb sweat, it does not collapse when you draw, and it can be reholstered one handed. Every Kydex holster on this page is built in Jacksonville, Florida and carries our lifetime warranty.
Retention. Our Posi-Click retention is adjustable with a hex key: you set how hard the gun has to be pulled to come out. Set it so the gun holds when you shake the holster upside down and still draws without a fight. A 19X is heavy enough that under-tensioned retention is noticeable.
Adjustability. Cant and ride height are the two settings that matter on this gun. Raising ride height moves the grip up where a cover garment drapes over it rather than catching under it, and forward cant lays the grip along your beltline instead of standing it up. Expect to spend ten minutes setting both.
Trigger guard coverage. The shell should fully enclose the trigger guard so nothing can reach the trigger while the gun is holstered. All of our Kydex shells do.
Belt. A 24.83 ounce gun plus a holster needs a belt built for the load. The Ultimate Concealed Carry Leather Gun Belt, from $69.99 is 1.5 inches of 14 ounce leather and will not fold under a loaded 19X. This is the single most common upgrade that fixes a holster people thought was the problem.
IWB vs OWB For The Glock 19X
| Factor | IWB | OWB |
|---|---|---|
| Concealment | Strong. The slide hides below the belt and only the grip needs managing, which a claw handles. | Limited. A full-length grip plus the whole slide sits outside the belt and needs a real cover garment. |
| Comfort | Good once cant and ride height are set, though 24.83 ounces inside the waistband asks for a stiff belt. | Best of the two. Nothing is pressed between you and the gun. |
| Draw Speed | Fast with practice. The cover garment is the limiting step. | Fastest. Nothing to clear but a jacket hem. |
| Wardrobe Impact | Needs waistband room, and a tucked shirt means the tuckable version. | Needs an untucked shirt or jacket long enough to cover a 7.44 inch gun. |
| Best For | Daily concealed carry, appendix or behind the hip. | Range, open carry where legal, outdoor and cold weather carry. |
Appendix Carry Setup
Appendix is where the 19X is hardest and most rewarding. The compact slide sits low and flat in front of your hip, which is the easiest place on the body to hide 6.85 inches of slide. The 5.47 inch grip is the whole problem, and it is solvable.
Add a claw. The Holster Claw Kit, from $15.95 is the first thing to buy after the holster. It rotates the grip in rather than letting it lever out when you sit or bend.
Raise the ride height. Counterintuitively, running the gun higher usually conceals a tall grip better, because the grip ends up under the drape of your shirt instead of pushing out at the hem.
Consider the sidecar. The Glock 19/19X/32/45 Sidecar Holster, from $94.95 uses the magazine carrier as a counterweight. On a long-grip gun that is a structural fix rather than an accessory.
Get the belt right. A claw needs something to push against. On a soft belt it has nothing to lever off and does very little.
Sit down in it before you commit. Seated is where a 19X grip digs into your ribs. Adjust cant first, then ride height, then try again in a chair and in a car seat.
Optics, Lights And The MOS Question
Every Kydex holster we build is optic cut, so a 19X with a red dot needs no different shell and no separate decision at checkout. That applies whether your optic is mounted on a factory MOS slide, through an aftermarket plate, or on a milled slide. Glock's own commercial 19X page lists MOS only as a separate adapter set rather than as a 19X configuration, while 19X MOS guns do circulate through dealers, so it is worth checking what is actually stamped on your slide. Either way it does not change which holster you order from us, and we keep a Glock 19X MOS holster page for exactly that reason.
The 19X ships with Glock's three-dot tritium night sights as the factory sight option, which is taller than a standard Glock sight. Our shells clear suppressor height sights, so night sights and aftermarket tall sights both fit.
Lights are the one place the mold genuinely changes, because the shell has to wrap the light rather than the dust cover. We build 19X-rated shells for the Olight PLX, Olight Baldr S and Baldr Mini, Olight PL-MINI 2 Valkyrie and Olight PL-MINI 3 Valkyrie, in both IWB and paddle, plus DRUID 2.0 versions for the Streamlight TLR-7, TLR-7A and TLR-7X and an IWB version for the TLR-1. If you run a light we have not listed, contact us before ordering: a light bearing gun will not seat properly in a shell cut for a bare dust cover.
On generations: our 19/19X/32/45 shells carry an all-generations fitment rating in our own data, and the 19X has only ever been built in one configuration. Glock's V Series, which press and shoppers also call Gen 6, arrived on the Glock 17, 19 and 45, and we have validated V Series fitment on those shells. Glock has not extended it to the 19X, so there is no separate V Series 19X to fit.
What Else Fits A Glock 19X Holster
Our 19X shells are titled and rated for four guns at once: the Glock 19, the Glock 19X, the Glock 32 and the Glock 45. The 32 is the .357 SIG version of the 19 and the 45 is the 19X's black, lanyard-free sibling, and all four share the same 6.85 inch slide.
There is a second, wider shell that also names the 19X: our double-stack Glock shells, titled for the Glock 17, 19, 19X, 26, 31, 32, 33, 34, 45, 47 and 49. These are molded to accommodate the longer Glock 17 and 34 slides, so they take a 19X with room to spare rather than wrapping it tightly. They are the right pick if you own several Glocks and want one holster. The configurations are the IWB Holster, from $44.95, the Paddle Holster, from $49.95, the Plus Line IWB, from $64.95, the Trigger Guard Holster, from $36.95 and the TLR-1 IWB Holster, from $49.95.
Going the other direction, a Glock 17 specific shell is not rated for a 19X. Our Glock 17 shells are titled for the Glock 17, 31, 47 and 49, and a 6.85 inch slide in a mold cut for 7.32 inches leaves the muzzle unsupported. The Universal IWB Holster, from $39.95 lists the Glock 19X at Standard size on its own published fit guide, so that is the one deliberately cross-platform exception.
Two accessories swap carry style without a new holster: the OWB Holster Paddle Mount, $9.95 turns a belt loop OWB shell into a paddle, and the Tuckable Low Profile Holster Belt Loop Kit, $12.95 converts a clip-carried IWB shell to tuckable.
Frequently Asked Questions
What Is A Light Bearing Holster?
A light bearing holster is molded to fit a gun with a weapon light already attached, wrapping the light body instead of the bare dust cover. A standard shell will not close around a light. For a Glock 19X we build light bearing shells for the Olight PLX, Baldr S and Mini, PL-MINI 2 and PL-MINI 3, plus Streamlight TLR-7 and TLR-1 versions.
Will A 19X Fit In A 17 Holster?
Not in a Glock 17 specific holster. The 19X slide is 6.85 inches against the 17's 7.32 inches, so the muzzle sits short of the bottom of the shell and retention indexes wrong. Our double-stack Glock shells are molded for the 17 and 19X together and are rated for both, so those do take a 19X.
What Is A Good Holster For A Glock 19?
The same shell, which is the useful part of the answer. Our IWB Holster fits: Glock 19 19X 32 45 from $44.95 is molded for both guns, because the 19 and 19X publish identical barrels, slide lengths and slide widths and differ only in grip height. We also keep a dedicated Glock 19 buyer's guide, linked below.
What Is The Best Sight For A Glock 19X?
There is no single best, and the 19X already ships with Glock's three-dot tritium night sights as its factory option, which is more than most Glocks get. Shooters commonly swap to a fiber front or add a red dot. For holster purposes it does not matter: our shells clear suppressor height sights and are optic cut as standard.
Do Navy SEALs Use Glock 19 Or 19X?
Reporting consistently points to the Glock 19, carried under the military designation Mk 27, rather than the 19X. No public issue list confirms the detail. The 19X is a commercial gun descended from Glock's Modular Handgun System submission, so it was never fielded as issue. Our 19/19X/32/45 shells fit both guns either way.
Why Is The GLOCK 19X Special?
It is Glock's crossover: the compact 6.85 inch slide of a Glock 19 on the full-length grip of a Glock 17, in a Coyote nPVD finish with a lanyard plug, no finger grooves and a Marksman barrel. It descends from Glock's Army Modular Handgun System entry and ships with one 17-round and two 19-round magazines.
How We Chose
These are our own holsters, so treat this as what we build and why rather than as an independent review. What keeps it honest is that the ordering is not our opinion: we ranked every Glock 19X rated shell by real units sold over the trailing twelve months from our own sales data, then cross-checked that against best selling order inside the Glock 19X collection. Both measures put the IWB shell first, which is what the Best Overall label rests on.
Fitment claims come from our own product fitment sheets, not from inference. Gun specifications come from Glock's published figures for the G19, G19X, G45 and G17. Where a question has no settled answer, such as which Glock the SEALs carry, we say so rather than picking a side. Our holsters are made to order, so a shell you can order here is one we will build for you.
